  Bicheno Caravan Park & Takeaway food is located a short walk from the main street of Bicheno. About 5 minutes to the blowhole, and a couple of minutes from where you leave to see the penguins. Check-in was quick and easy, although the booking we made the previous evening couldn't be found. Showers were clean and hot and cost $1. I haven't stayed in the other caravan park in Bicheno, but compared with places up and down the coast of Tasmania, this was slightly expensive. The dryer was also out of order, which meant we saved our washing for our next destination. We didn't purchase any food or supplies from the shop, but they had a decent selection of groceries, and are open until 7:30 or 8 depending how busy it is.

  We camped here one night and paid $38 for a piece of grass. We were not told that this steep price didn't include any hot water. I ended up learning about this apparently minor factor standing naked under the shower. There are coin operated showers in the main abolution block but not in the smaller one near the campsites. By the time I realized I needed a coin to have a hot shower the shop was closed and I had no change. Even though it's disappointing that hot showers aren't included, the worst part is that we were not told about it. That's just not right. All in all you get very little for your money here.

  Perfect location, walking distance to everything we needed. The park itself is small, but clean neat and tidy. $1 for showers but are clean. The price for the powered site was reasonable. The shop attached had great fish and chips. Owners are friendly. They also have cabins onsite.
